I have just finished a new painting, a modern rendition of James McNeill Whistler's iconic Nocturne in Black and Gold - The Falling Rocket. Like the original, my painting is composed primarily of bleak tones, with three main colors: blue, green, and yellow. However, I have simplified the composition and made the overall feel of the artwork more simplistic and modern. The painting depicts a mountain range shrouded in mist. The billowing smoke from the falling rocket provides a clear distinction between the water and the sky, while the dabs of yellow represent exploding fireworks in the misty air. Although my painting is simplistic and modern in nature, I have sought to create a complex and evocative work of art. The muted colors and somber atmosphere create a sense of mystery and wonder. The viewer is left to imagine the scene for themselves, and to ponder the meaning of the falling rocket. I was drawn to Whistler's painting because of its evocative atmosphere and its use of color. I wanted to explore the idea of using a modern style to depict a traditional subject matter, exploring the complex emotions that can be evoked by a simple landscape. I am pleased with the overall effect of the painting. I think it is both simplistic and modern in nature, while also conveying complex emotions that go beyond the technicalities of the imagery. I hope that my painting will stay with the viewer long after they have seen it. I want them to continue to think about it and to reflect on the emotions that it evokes. :-)

In my latest series of art, titled "Moonlit Mountains," I explore the beauty of mountains under the moonlight using minimalist modern abstract forms. I use simple shapes and muted colors to create an atmosphere of mystery and tranquility. I am drawn to the beauty of the night sky and the way it transforms the landscape. Under the moonlight, mountains become mysterious and otherworldly. The shadows dance and the shapes shift, creating a sense of awe and wonder. Minimalism and Modern Abstraction Minimalism and modern abstraction inspire me because they allow me to concentrate on the essential elements of my subject matter. I have simplified the mountains to their most basic forms, using simple shapes and lines to create a sense of order and harmony. The muted colors of my creations also contribute to the minimalist aesthetic. I have used a limited palette of blues, grays, yellows/bronze and whites to create a sense of depth and atmosphere. The Beauty of the Night Sky There is something about the darkness and the stars that I find both awe-inspiring and calming. In this series, the moon is a central element in many of the works, and I have used light and shadow to create a sense of depth and mystery. A Meditation on Nature
This series is a meditation on the power of nature and the beauty of the night sky. It is a reminder that even in the darkness, there is always beauty to be found. I hope that these paintings will inspire you to appreciate the beauty of the natural world and to find tranquility in the midst of the everyday. I'm excited to share my new art series with you! This series features all-black modern abstract/minimalist art. The shades are focused on using black/monochrome shades and mostly darker shades of gray. Black is the perfect color for minimalist art because it is both striking and versatile. It can be used to create a sense of drama or to create a more subtle and understated effect. The geometric shapes and patterns in my art are inspired by the natural world. I find that these shapes are pleasing to the eye and they can create a sense of balance and harmony in a room. I also like to use negative space in my art, which is the space around the shapes. This can help to create a sense of depth and perspective. Why Modern Interiors Complement Black Minimalist Art Modern interiors are characterized by clean lines, uncluttered spaces, and a focus on function over form. This makes them the perfect setting for black minimalist art. The simple lines and shapes of the art will echo the lines of the furniture and architecture, creating a sense of harmony and balance. The black color of the art will also help to create a sense of depth and drama in the room. In addition, the minimalist style of the art will not compete with the other elements in the room. This makes it a great choice for people who want to create a minimalist or Scandi-style home. How the Simplicity of the Design Adds Elegance to Any Room The simplicity of black minimalist art is what makes it so elegant. The lack of detail and ornamentation allows the viewer to focus on the shapes and lines of the art. This can create a sense of calm and serenity in the room. The black color of the art can also add depth and drama to a room. It can make a small room feel larger and it can make a large room feel more intimate. If you are looking for a way to add elegance to your home, black minimalist art is a great option. It is a timeless and versatile style that will never go out of fashion.
I hope you enjoyed this blog post about my new series of black modern abstract/minimalist art, excited to share more of my work with you in the coming days. I am excited to announce the completion of my new series of colorful horse racing art in the impressionist style. These paintings are filled with vibrant colors and energy, capturing the excitement and beauty of the sport. I have always been fascinated by horses, and I love the way they move and the power they exude. I wanted to capture that energy in my paintings, and I think I have succeeded. The use of bold colors and loose brushstrokes creates a sense of movement and excitement, while the subject matter is sure to appeal to horse lovers everywhere. I believe that these paintings would be a great addition to any home or office. They would add a touch of excitement and color, and they would be sure to spark conversation. I can also imagine them being used in hotels, restaurants, and other public spaces. In fact, one of my paintings has already been licensed to be hung in the lobby of the Holiday Inn Express in Louisville, Kentucky. The designer hung it as a pentaptych, or five-paneled art, and it looks absolutely stunning. The colors of the painting perfectly match the unique lighting chandelier in the lobby, and it really creates a dramatic effect. If you are a horse lover or if you simply appreciate beautiful art, I encourage you to check out my collection of colorful horse racing paintings. I am sure you will find something that you love. We are excited to introduce my new collection of autumn tree art. These paintings capture the beauty and fleeting nature of autumn in a vibrant and evocative way. The main theme of these paintings is the contrast between the vibrant red leaves of the autumn trees and the muted gray background. This contrast creates a sense of movement and energy, as the viewer's eye is drawn to the bright red leaves. The gray background also provides a sense of balance and stability, grounding the painting and preventing it from becoming too overwhelming. The mood of these paintings is one of autumnal melancholy. The red leaves are a reminder of the fleeting nature of beauty, and the gray background suggests a sense of loss and nostalgia. However, the paintings are also hopeful. The red leaves are a symbol of new beginnings, and the paintings suggest that even in the midst of change, there is still beauty to be found. The paintings could also be interpreted as a metaphor for life. The red leaves represent the joys and passions of life, while the gray background represents the challenges and hardships. The paintings suggest that life is a balance of both light and dark, and that it is important to embrace all aspects of it.
These paintings would look great in any home, but they would be especially well-suited for rooms that receive a lot of natural light. The bright red leaves will pop against the muted gray background, and the paintings will add a touch of elegance and sophistication to any space. Here are some of the reasons why our new collection of autumn tree art would look good in your home: • The colors red and gray are versatile and can be paired with a variety of different décor styles. • The paintings in our collection are of high quality and are sure to last for years to come. • The paintings are original and one-of-a-kind, so you can be sure that you won't find them anywhere else. • We offer a variety of sizes and print products to choose from. As time moves through us and we move through time, there are cases when the world around us leaves us desolate and hollow. It is at these times I have noticed more often than not, I can hear my heart longing for something more in this life. While I cannot exactly name this inner harkening towards timelessness, I desperately want to chase after it; sometimes, I find that it is calling me towards something specific, and other times, it is beckoning me towards greater ideas. What I know about these times in my life for sure is this: I walk to find myself surrounded by darkness and uncertainty, and I walk alone through the shrouded forest of my soul. I believe the path to discover the inner secret of my soul is necessary for me to appreciate the outer life; I go deep inside myself, not only to find new treasures of my inner self as I grow and see the world, but to give my soul new memories, new items to cherish, and more people to keep. While I walk through the valleys of my shame, the hovels of my courage, over the mountaintops of my pride, and around the rivers of laughter, all bubbling with life’s goodness and pain inside of my mind, I am able to contemplate my time. The past, the present, and the future become more of a weaving of a dreamscape as it sparks to life and grows, ferreting out new places for my curiosity to seek, spreading out new canvases for my creativity to play on, and growing wide branches for my carefreeness and ambition to conquer. Soul searching begins inside with the recognition of despair and trouble with the outer world, and the maturity to look for hope and understanding despite the temptation to give up. While the rest of the world weights itself against the human spirit, the soul caves in, not to collapse, but to turn itself from a metaphorical lump of coal into a diamond. As things around you start to grow darker – whether it is from pain, suffering, frustration, or loss – you will be able to see more of the light inside of you as it gathers together in the center, like the full moon lighting up the night sky. It is at this time when you must continue on, moving past the cynicism and disillusionment to a higher level of hope, purpose, and meaning. While this might seem just pretty imagery as you walk along on an inner journey to the heart of your being, this is also backed up by psychology. When you grow up and begin to see things around the world differently, and you happen to notice more of the fear and hate, you set yourself on an adventure much like the path of character development in a novel: you have a problem, and begin climbing up the ‘rising action’ towards a decision which will determine the outcome of the character arc. Once you set out on your inner journey of soul searching and self-contemplation, you take it one step at a time; as you go further up and further in, you notice that all around you is darkness, so thick it is hard to see past it. But you continue on, resolved, and you push past it, to find the light of truth This experience, according to psychology, is the same path of a crisis, where values are tested and, if found wanting, redesigned and realigned with the soul’s priorities. Once you find yourself at such a place, it could also mean that it is time to grow a new priority; plant the seed in your heart, and water it, care for it, nourish it, and let it grow.
Your soul is constantly barraged by the world and its many changes, like water lapping on the rocks. The water can erode the rocks, but it can smooth out the edges and leave them clean and shining in the sunlight. Your soul changes and grows, and as it is pruned, more fruit comes from the places we seek to become. When it comes, that seed in your heart will bloom into blossoms and beauty, and you will be able to enjoy it yourself, inside yourself, as well as reflect that to other people in the world. The soul needs the inner life understood as it interacts with the outer. No life can be fully experienced without a journey into its dark corners of the mind and the secret passages of the soul. Being happy all the time turns out to be too shallow; your emotional range of sorrow and sacrifice, underdeveloped, leaves the heart with withered roots and poor support, leaving the echo of your life’s imprint upon the world incomplete, like a piano only half-played, or a tree without flowers. Whereas shades such as black, silver, and white are commonly used with gray, why not use a different, brighter shade with it such as a yellow hue? In most of the modern homes, you will find the interior beaming with one of the shades of gray. However, you can make your home outstanding by incorporating pops of gorgeous yellow that will work wonders in summer and throughout the year too. Modern, playful, and yet classy, the gray and yellow combination strikes a good balance between the snazzy and the sophisticated. A gray living room looks both stylish and formal. While gray is a neutral color, it can be very attractive and beautiful when you combine it with a bright color such as yellow. And since gray isn't so dynamic, you should include certain focal points in the room. For instance, a zebra rug with yellow marks will make a fantastic addition to the gray living room. There are several ways to incorporate the yellow and gray color combination in your living room. A great way is to let gray be the backdrop while using yellow accents on your throw pillows, chairs, fresh flowers, and vases to brighten up your space. The approach is not only cost effective but also simple. It enables you to switch from one color scheme to another without any difficulty. Using a gray and yellow color scheme doesn't really mean that you will commit to it in the long term; you can change it anytime. However, the mild yellow shade gives the accent wall a classy look when combined with light gray. Typically, a light gray background works well with brighter yellow accents. Nevertheless, you can still use deeper grays to come up with a warmer and bigger space. This strategy works effectively in predominantly cold areas or in winter when darker hues play a significant role to your living room’s overall ambiance. When using yellow and gray, the most important thing is to ensure there is proper color coordination. This is best achieved through the furniture and other fittings in your living room. For example, a dark gray couch with light yellow pillow throws creates an interesting contrast in the room. Besides, you can use a carpet that’s gray in color with a few yellow marks. This will not only make your living room glamorous, but it will also create the best color coordination between your carpet, furniture and the accent walls. Some homeowners go ahead to paint the ceiling with light gray. Why not go for blinds that are gray in color too?
When the carpet, furniture and accent wall look all gray, you may want to include a few more focal points such as yellow flowers in a vase at different sections of the room, awesome photographs in yellow frames and even some wall papers with yellow color. It is amazing to see how creative you can get when it comes to using gray and yellow colors in your home. In fact, you can apply similar color tactics in your bedroom as well. I typically paint spontaneously, without a specific style or technique in mind. However, I have recently been drawn to the brilliant colors and loose brushstrokes of Impressionist paintings. The lack of detail in a painting can make it more interesting by focusing the viewer's attention on the overall aesthetic essence of the scene, its shading, movement, and the flow of color. This can emphasize and accentuate the changing of lights.
I find that I am often drawn to Impressionist paintings, which often have a loose, painterly style with visible brushstrokes. This style can help to capture the fleeting moments of light and atmosphere in a way that more realistic paintings cannot. Creating art is a continuous journey for me, and I am always learning and evolving. I hope you enjoy my creations, and I look forward to sharing more of my work with you in the future. Athena is a Greek goddess known to have attributes of wisdom and war. She is often confused with Minerva, which is a Roman goddess with almost similar attributes to Athena. Athena was the daughter of Zeus and Metis. She was born fully grown and ready for battle. She was the ruler of Greek cities and was believed to oversee handcrafts made by women and other areas in industry and the arts. Athena gave many gifts to man including the art to tame animals and make shoes. She is also believed to have given mankind the olive tree by striking her spear on the ground and having invented the flute and plow. In those days, Athena was mostly associated with birds especially the owl. She is believed to have had two main symbols, the olive tree and the owl. The olive tree was a symbol of peace and harmony whereas the owl signified wisdom and watchfulness. Legend has it that Athena made the owl her favorite animal because she was impressed by its attributes. Owls have a solemn appearance and big wise eyes. In many cultures, owls are associated with intelligence, brilliance, wisdom, power and knowledge. In some cultures owls are considered to be a witch’s companion with secret powers of the night. They are believed to have eyes big enough to see through deception and uncover hidden truths. Some communities consider owls to be guardians of the afterlife or a ruler of the night. Greeks attributed the owl to Athena. Many of them believed that the association of Athena and the owl was attributed to the fact that owls were able to see in the dark- something that was considered a sign of wisdom. The light that reflected off their eyes in the dark signified an inner light or wisdom. There are also those who believe that Athena’s association with owls was due to the fact that there were so many owls at the hilltop that was dedicated to Athena. Athenians used to produce owls in vases. They were used as a motivator during battles. Greek armies would go with an owl to war as a symbol of protection from Athena. During battle, the Greek army believed they would win whenever an owl flew over the soldiers. They took it as a sign of victory from the goddess herself. However there is a distinct type of owl that was considered Athena’s owl- Athene Noctua or “Athena of the Night”. This owl is about 9” in size and it was mostly found in Europe and North America. The owl usually nests in tall high-rise buildings and is common in Athens. It is considered a very durable species.
Artists have come up with beautiful pieces of art that try to evoke the mysterious power of Athena. The beautiful images represent the power of Athena and beauty showcased by the owls. In Greek, owls are not only used in military banners but also in their coins and pieces of artwork. They signify wealth, wisdom and power. |
